I’m a bilingual journalist from Chicago focusing on issues of human rights and social justice in the Latinx community in the United States and Latin America. I currently work as a research assistant and staff writer for InSight Crime, an investigative foundation focused on studying and analyzing organized crime in Latin America and the Caribbean.
I have a BA from DePaul University in journalism and Spanish, as well as a minor in Latin American studies. My work has been featured in El BeiSMan, The Yucatan Times and San Miguel Times in México, Agúzate, AlterNet, In These Times magazine, Jacobin, The Crime Report, The North American Congress on Latin America (NACLA), InSight Crime and the Security Assistance Monitor’s blog, a project of the Center for International Policy. I am currently based in Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia, but regularly travel and contribute material from México.
